Bunun üzerine Hasan Sabbah önderliğindeki haşhaşin tarikatı öç almak ister ve baş suikastçisi Altair (Arapça uçucu demektir) görevlendirir. Amaç Haçlı ordusu başındaki komutanları öldürmektir. Oyun bir üçleme olarak planlanmaktadır. Ubisoft tarafından yapılan açıklamaya göre oyunun daha sonraki iki bölümünden en az birinin büyük kısmı günümüzde ve bir kısmıda gelecekte geçecektir.
